In accordance with the established procedures, specialized care to TB patients is carried out in tuberculosis dispensaries (hospitals) and TB sanatoriums, as well as in the TB clinics in scientific research institutions.
8.1. RULES OF RENDERING OF MEDICAL CARE TO TB PATIENTS IN MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS
Providing medical care to TB patients in health institutions on the territory of the Russian Federation is governed by orders, instructions, and methodological instructions of the Ministry of Health. The main documents currently in force are the Federal Law of November 21, 2011 N 323-FL "about health protection of Russian Federation citizens"; and the Federal Law of June 18, 2001 N 77-FL (in amendment. Federal Law of July 2nd, 2013 N 185-FL) "On prevention of spreading tuberculosis in Russian Federation".
Conditions for rendering medical care to TB patients
In accordance with article 1 of Federal law N 77-FL, the "basic concepts" are defined:
• tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis;
• active form of tuberculosis - the tuberculosis, the signs that are determined by results of clinical, laboratory, and radiological examinations;
• contagious form of tuberculosis is an active form of tuberculosis in which there is a release of MBT;
• tuberculosis patient - a patient with active TB;
• anti-TB measures - combination of social, medical, sanitary-hygienic and anti-epidemic measures aimed at the detection, examination and
treatment, including compulsory examination and treatment, dispensary observation and rehabilitation of patients with tuberculosis, on an outpatient basis, according to procedures established by Federal law;
• TB prophylactics - combination of measures aimed at early detection of TB to prevent its spread;
